N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC) is a stable form of the non-essential amino acid L-Cysteine. It is a sulfur-containing amino acid that acts as a stabiliser for the formation of protein structures and is also necessary for the formation of glutathione.

NAC acts as a precursor to glutathione, a powerful antioxidant that prevents damage from free radicals on a cellular level. Free radicals are unstable atoms that cause major damage to cells by breaking them down, which in turn lays the foundation for serious illnesses.
