Gut Smoothie

Imagine the perfect restorative elixir for your digestive system that is not only easy to make, but tastes delicious.

This smoothie contains a good mix of soluble and insoluble fibre that help to cleanse the system, promote digestion and keep you regular.

This elixir also contains gut healing, anti-inflammatory bone broth (which you will not be able to taste!), hydrolysed collagen and coconut milk kefir or coconut yoghurt.

The resistant starch in green banana flour, which can be purchased from health food stores, will assist in keeping your gut lining healthy.

This gut healing smoothie is a great start to your morning or a lovely afternoon pick-me-up.

Serves: 2-3

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup of bone broth (chilled)

  • 1/3 cup of coconut yoghurt or coconut milk kefir

  • 1 cup coconut water

  • 1 cup of frozen wild blueberries

  • 1 cup frozen raspberries

  • 1 frozen pear or banana

  • 1 small Lebanese cucumber, chopped

  • 1 handful chard or spinach, chopped

  • 1 tbsp of green banana flour

  • 1 tsp chia seeds

  • 1 tsp hemp seeds

  • 1 tsp ground linseeds

  • 1 tbsp hydrolysed collagen powder

  • 1 tbsp almond butter

  • ¼ tsp cinnamon powder


Method

Pour all the seeds into a high speed blender and blend on high for 1 minute.

Then add the rest of the ingredients and blend for a further 2 minutes.

Add more coconut water if you want a thinner consistency. Enjoy!
